him home from capital city. must be real serious. going clear to the hospital. what's wrong with mr. allen? your father didn't say dear. that must be them now. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ burst appendix. we didn't get him to the hospital in time. he's going to be alright, isn't he? no, dear. well supper will be spoiled if i don't get it on. something should be done about it. the hospital, it's a crying shame the nearest one being fifty miles away. seems to me i once heard doc stewart say you need a small emergency hospital around here. yeah, it's like the weather. everybody talks about it but... well, why don't we do something about it? such as? well, get everybody in the community behind it, working for it. the kids too? kids too. well i could ask the grange at the next meeting help equip a hospital with well an operating table, or a portable x-ray or something like that. well, then that solves the problem. not quite. we need a building first and that costs a lot of money. well, we could have a drive. isn't easy to get people to give, even for a good cause. i'd give and i know lassie would too

chance for accumulating. ocean city will have all rain today. the western part of the state has to worry about the wintry mix. baltimore changes into rain later this afternoon. it should be at least an inch or less for parts of the metro area. that is really temperature dependent. i would expect an inch or less for baltimore. higher amounts north and west. years down -- hagerstown, 2-4 inches. 32 as you get into the northwest suburbs. icy mix possible tomorrow morning. 41 for the high tomorrow. snow possible again on saturday. this is an active pattern. maybe a wintry mix returning on tuesday. >> time now for a last look at one of our big stories. a shooting death chrises morning in glen bernie. kim dacey has more on that story. >> police said it happened around 6:00 a.m. yesterday when an intruder broke into a business on baltimore annapolis boulevard. police say byron philip broke into the store, not knowing somebody was inside. there was an altercation inside the business. philip ran out and collapsed in the parking lot. people have been breaking into the store. so far no charges have
